2010 Grand prize draw to raise funds for the
R.N.L.I Lizard Tamar Lifeboat appeal
The R.N.L.I is replacing the present Lizard lifeboat with a brand new Tamar class lifeboat.
The new lifeboat will be faster and have a greater effective range, enabling safety cover to be extended to a much wider area, which is urgently needed due to the rapidly increasing numbers of both leisure and commercial users of the area.
The Lizard area has been tasked with raising half of the amount needed to fund the new 2.7 million pounds Tamar Class Lifeboat over the next three years. This is a huge amount of money to collect and the Coverack Branch has risen to the occasion and is starting its fundraising efforts with the launch of a Grand Prize Draw at its Christmas Fayre on the 28th November in the Lambeague hall, Coverack.
This is by far the greatest single fundraising event ever undertaken by the branch and we hope to sell tickets countrywide through our network of members and friends.
Some wonderful prizes have already been donated including a unique home-crafted double patchwork quilt, a years’ supply of Trenance Chocolate and a week in a Thatched Coverack seafront holiday cottage, these are all very valuable prizes and will give a great deal of pleasure to the winners.
.
More details of the appeal and ticket sales appear on the Coverack Branch website www.coverackrnli.org which also has links to our sponsors along with news and details of other branch activities.
For the launch at the Christmas Fayre Father Christmas has agreed to take a break from his busy schedule and will arrive by helicopter at around 11.00 am to launch our Grand Draw and give out free presents to all the children. R.N.L.I souvenirs, Christmas cards and many other stalls will be set up for all to enjoy.
We trust that through your organisation you will find time to attend and help publicise this truly wonderful prize draw. For a £5.00 book of tickets you can give a lovely Christmas present, great for the person that has everything. Who knows, you may just have given them a present that could be worth a lot of money.
